As if Facebook didn’ t have enough quizzes, bling and ‘stuff’ plastered all over, now they’re apparently using our names and photos in auto-generated ads and showing them to people on your friends list. Good grief! Are they paying me for using my name and photo in an ad?! Yeah – didn’t think so. :\ I’ll pass Facebook, thanks anyway.
Here’s how you too can opt out of these auto-generated ads by following these steps:
- Log in to Facebook
- go to Settings > Privacy Settings > News Feed and Wall > Facebook Ads tab
- Set “Appearance in Facebook Ads” to “NO ONE”
- click “Save Changes”
That’s it. Feel free to share the link to this post with every single person you know, so they too can opt-out of these auto-generated ads. I’m sure your friends will thank you.
