Facebook Ads Using YOUR Name & Photo

As if Facebook didn’ t have enough quizzes, bling and ‘stuff’ plastered all over, now they’re apparently using our names and photos in auto-generated ads and showing them to people on your friends list. Good grief! Are they paying me for using my name and photo in an ad?! Yeah – didn’t think so. :\ I’ll pass Facebook, thanks anyway.

Here’s how you too can opt out of these auto-generated ads by following these steps:

  • Log in to Facebook
  • go to Settings > Privacy Settings > News Feed and Wall > Facebook Ads tab
  • Set “Appearance in Facebook Ads” to “NO ONE”
  • click “Save Changes”

That’s it. Feel free to share the link to this post with every single person you know, so they too can opt-out of these auto-generated ads. I’m sure your friends will thank you. ;)

My Facebook friend Kay DeFreese alerted me to this via Facebook. Thanks Kay!

Saw your twitter post, which took me to Fox News (against my better judgement I might add :) ) and then to here.

Nevertheless, I am grateful for the tip and instruction.

Please continue being as gracious as you have always been in sharing your knowledge.
