Last week I posted a video when the new Seesmic Desktop for Twitter was released. From the start there were things about this new app I liked, and things I didn’t. As with any new software, there will be bugs – and there were. The biggest that I noticed was that when you set up a Userlist or Search when you closed the program, it did not save the Userlist or Searches you setup. Not good!
However, today a new update was released that fixed this pesky problem, so points for Seesmic Desktop! I’ve highlighted that fix, and a couple other features I like and compared it a bit to TweetDeck.
Let me know if you’ve tried Seesmic Desktop yet and what you think.

Hi, I have been trying to install the new Seesmic Desktop for Twitter, but I can’t! I already have the adobe air installed because I already have tweetdeck! I checked and My adobe air is already updated also. It keeps trying to find aprogram to open with anyways? Any help?????
Hi Sara,
Seesmic Desktop is brand new – so not completely ‘bug free’. If you have the latest Adobe Air installed then it should popup a black popup window/installer box that says it’s installing the program via Adobe Air (or something along those lines), then when done, should give you a desktop icon for Seesmic Desktop that looks like a red/gray/black face with two eyes that you would click to open the application.
If you’re not getting that. First thing I would suggest is that you shut down your computer & reboot. Sometimes that resolves things when nothing else will. If that does not fix it, then…..
Click Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Seesmic Desktop (if it’s showing any files installed on your system), and then uninstall Adobe Air and then first re-install Adobe Air, then re-install Seesmic Desktop. It could be that something did not fully or properly install the first time.
Let me know if that works for you.
I’ve been using this since you posted about it and so far I really do like it a lot. I haven’t used TweetDeck at all since I added the Seesmic desktop. I love the multiaccount feature, it makes my life a million times easier!
