Twitter: Spotting Spammers

It’s apparently spammer season, as I’ve been getting an increased number of spammers following me on Twitter. How do I know they’re spammers? I’ve created this video to show you how I spot spammers on Twitter.

Thanks, I needed to have someone point out that twitter has spam on it too. I followed back a twitterer and received many updates on the value of Lasik eye surgery before I realized that they needed to be dropped. I can’t wait for the E.D. pusher to ‘pop up’ (man that’s punny!)

  2. Traci, Thank you for taking the time to create this.. Dead on Target about Twitter Spam. Blocking is the best value for my time, I have no desire to type in a spam notice for everyone.

  3. Very good information. I guess I’ll pay more attention to that in the future. I usually just ignore the spammers. Twitter usually catches spammers before I do. Keep up the good work.

Thank, I definitely need to do a culling of some of my followers. :-)

I watched both parts of the video. Very good and concise info you’ve shared. I think spam is an ever growing problem on twitter myself.

He’s co-opted two different guru identities to build trust – the rotating name that he says recommended the Mammoth List product, and the identity itself. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt that’s really Derek Gehl. :)
